I have never been a bride before, but I would imagine that an unexpected gift from my wedding photographer would put a giant smile on my face and be something I treasure forever.
Over the past several months, I have been pondering a simple yet thoughtful gift I could send to my couples shortly after their wedding day. In fact, I wanted them to receive the gift in the mail before I sent them the link to their online gallery.
I like the idea of the first interaction that couples have with their wedding day images is a tangible product, a physical print. Not only is it a nice gesture, but it allows clients to rave about your services and show off their photos. I have had a past bride tell me that she brought in her boxed set of images to work and shared her pictures with all her friends.
My turnaround time for delivering images to clients is pretty quick. Either the day of the wedding or the next day, I import images to my computer and select the best of the bunch. Using Lightroom, I triple star my absolute favorites and edit those first. When they’re perfect, I order 25 square prints from Artifact Uprising. The whole set costs only $21.99!
I searched and searched for the perfect box that was classic, modern, and different to hold the printed photographs. I decided a mix of glass and antiqued brass would be unique, as you can see the images even before opening the box. A handwritten thank you note is a nice touch. My goal is for the client to receive the gift in the mail about 7-10 days after their wedding day.
